The FSU National Black Alumni is an officially chartered affiliate of the FSU Alumni Association and is incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in the State of Florida. Our mission is to build a network of Black alumni and friends to sustain meaningful relationships on behalf of FSU. Membership is open to any alumnus, associate, or affiliate of the university with an earnest and steadfast commitment to the aims and goals of Black alumni.

2023 FSU Black Alumni Scholarships Now Open for Applications

The Florida State University National Black Alumni, Inc. (FSU BA) promotes and supports the academic achievement of Black students at FSU. As part of our ongoing commitment to academic excellence, we award multiple scholarships to current students. This year we are pleased to add a scholarship in Honor of Ms.
Eva Killings, a long-term food service staff member who provides outstanding customer service to the FSU community.

Our $1,000 scholarships are as follows:
* In honor of Mr. Maxwell Courtney, the first Black undergraduate to attend and graduate from FSU. The recipient should be an incoming freshman from Duval, Gadsden, Leon, Miami-Dade, or Orange counties.
* In honor of Dr. William T. Jones, the founder and first Director of the FSU Black Studies Program. The recipient can be a student with any major or classification.
* In honor of Ms. Eva Killings for a student working at least 20 hours on campus who demonstrates outstanding customer service.
* For a student involved in the International Program with a vision for global impact or plans to study abroad.
* The Walter T. King Scholarship for a female student enrolled in the FSU College of Medicine (M.D. Degree Program).
* The Byrnes Guillaume Esq. Scholarship for a first-generation student of Haitian or Caribbean descent.

We know our students exemplify excellence, and we look forward to rewarding their hard work. Awardees will receive their scholarships in the 2023 Fall Semester and be recognized during our annual FSU Black Alumni Homecoming Reunion.
